      2017 New Laws Review
Speaker: Tony J. Park, Pharm.D., J.D., Principal Attorney, California Pharmacy Lawyers
This session will review new laws in 2017. It will review old and new rules of pharmacy practice as well as identify potential pitfalls.
Continuing Education: 1.5 hours




      Non-Sterile Compounding
Speaker: Henry Truong, PharmD, MHA, ABAAHP, FAARM, of Mariner Advanced Pharmacy
This session will identify legally minimum required records for all non-sterile compounded products, determine proper handling and storage of all materials and drugs, and proper care/maintenance of compounding equipment. It will also discuss the implications of newly implementing, or continuing to offer, non-sterile compounding into a pharmacy practice.

      Common Recordkeeping Errors - PBM Recoupments and BOP Enforcement Actions
Speaker: Ivan Petrzelka, PharmD, JD, MBA, California Pharmacy Lawyers
This session will identify recordkeeping areas frequently audited by the Board of Pharmacy and recordkeeping errors serving as grounds for PBM recoupments. It will also develop mitigation and risk management strategies to minimize regulatory and financial risk.

      Cures 2.0 and the Pharmacist Corresponding Responsibility
Speaker: Ivan Petrzelka, PharmD, JD, MBA, California Pharmacy Lawyers
This session will review pharmacy and pharmacist staff education on Cures 2.0 and the Pharmacist's corresponding responsibility regarding controlled substance prescriptions under California Board of Pharmacy Law and federal Drug Enforcement Agency Requirements with recommendations for compliance best practices.

      Licensure Defense from the Board of Pharmacy
Speaker: Tony J. Park, Pharm.D., J.D., Principal Attorney, & Ivan Petrzelka, PharmD, JD, MBA, California Pharmacy Lawyers
This session will identify potential threats and common types of governmental enforcement action as well as implement risk mitigation strategies to avoid adverse government action. It will also discuss best practices and outline steps in handling regulatory inquiry.

Continuing Pharmacy Education
The California Pharmacists Association (#0113) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Upon completing an evaluation form, participants will be awarded up to 6 hours (0.6 CEUs) of Continuing Pharmacy Education Credit. A statement of credit will not be issued. Participants may log onto the CPE monitor website using their individual log in to download their statement of credit. Please allow 4 weeks for processing of CPE credits to the CPE monitor.
