TeamSTEPPS: The National Standard for Team Training in Healthcare
Participants completing this fun and interactive 4-hr workshop will receive a TeamSTEPPS Fundamentals Certificate of Completion. Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS) is a systematic approach developed by the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to integrate teamwork into practice. TeamSTEPPS introduces tools and strategies to improve team performance in healthcare and is based on three decades of research related to teamwork, team training, and culture change.

Where will your pharmacy degree lead you? The possibilities are endless! Hear from innovators and stakeholders who push the healthcare boundaries by following their passion. Participants will be introduced to healthcare policy issues and learn how to navigate the legislative and regulatory system to affect change.

Saturday will conclude with an outdoor networking reception at the Courtyard Marriott Irvine Spectrum. Recap on the day and connect with fellow student pharmacists as you unwind after your workout.

Sunday is when work gets done – arrive in business professional attire and ready to sell your idea because it’s competition day!

This year's Shark Tank Style Competition is an innovation hack-a-thon. Participants will be put into teams and asked to develop a project that applies the information they’ve been given to address a challenge, and then present their project idea to a panel of judges. Judges will choose one team to be named the 2017 Rx Boot Camp Innovators.

Winning team receives:

  • Recognition on CPhA website and at 2018 Western Pharmacy Exchange (WPE) conference
  • Complimentary registration to attend 2018 Western Pharmacy Exchange conference in San Diego, CA
  • $1,500 grant to finance the launch of the winning project
  • Mentorship to guide next steps of the winning project idea
