Coming Together, Making a Difference
Outlook 2009

Thank you to all of our Sponsors and Exhibitors!

What a Success!
Outlook was a tremendous success this year! Attendee turnout for the event was excellent, with student pharmacists’ attendance doubling over 2008. The CE sessions were outstanding  and all of the other events and programming proved to be better than ever.  In addition, the Exhibit Hall was completely sold out. Disneyland proved to be an ideal venue to host both members and their families. Thank you to everyone involved

The success of Outlook would not be possible without support from our exhibitors and sponsors at all levels. THANK YOU to each and every one of you for all of your support. A special thank you is due to Gold and Platinum sponsors for all you do to make high quality events available to CPhA members, such as the AmerisourceBergen Saturday night party, and the McKesson Presidents' Reception. Members had positive feedback to share about both of these events and many others.

Please consider utilizing the products and/or services of the Outlook exhibitors and sponsors to show your appreciation for their support of Outlook.

Great Keynote Speakers – APhA & NACDS
APhA CEO/ Executive Vice President Designee, Tom Menighan addressed members as the keynote speaker at the opening session of the House of Delegates. It was a great opportunity for to learn more about Tom’s personal history, his observations about the status of U.S. health care in general, and his thoughts and perspectives in an intimate town hall environment. There were many questions and comments from members afterwards.

Steven C. Anderson, IOM, CAE President & CEO, National Association of Chain Drug Stores spoke to members after the CPhA Awards ceremony. He emphasized and defined a new tagline that NACDS is promoting: “Pharmacies - The face of neighborhood healthcare.” NACDS is focused on ensuring that pharmacies and healthcare are firmly linked together – from healthcare reform initiatives to anywhere the story of healthcare delivery is told. Everyone in community pharmacy has a powerful role to play in assuring the success of this vision. It was a very interesting talk.

We thank both speakers for a great job!

House of Delegates
The 2009 House of Delegates proved to be a very lively session right from the start. There were many professional policies to discuss and the delegates provided valuable input and recommendations. Thank you to all our members who served as delegates or their respective local associations academies and schools of pharmacy. The final report from the House of Delegates will be posted on our website in March 2009.
